Abstract
In the 13th and 14th ISHS International Horticultural Congresses, some papers analyzed the importance of RTD (Research and Technological Development) in horticultural products for both the fresh market and for processing.
Of those papers, we shall emphasize the writings of Bhat (1990) and several Acta Horticulturae dedicated to vegetables for processing.
This paper summarizes, for vegetables, some of these data, figures and comments, trying to compare them with the importantce of the commodities (FAO data) on which the TRD papers are mainly focused.
