Abstract
The characteristics of selective and large spectrum aphicides for the control of Dysaphis plantaginea are discussed.
An anti-resistance strategy for apple orchards using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is proposed, taking into consideration the biological properties, the spectrum and side effects on beneficials of the compound.
The incompatibility of an optimal positioning of imidacloprid with current IPM principles is explained.
Furthermore, trials were executed in an orchard in which D. plantaginea has a decreased sensitivity towards pirimicarb.
Imidacloprid and triazamate were still very effective in this situation.
