Abstract
The increasing depletion of natural resources at the local, national and global levels requires solutions which could be partially addressed by the development of sustainable agricultural systems.
The objective of this paper is to show through practical experiences, alternative pathways of endogenous development.
In addition, the social construction is presented, which acts through the collaborative work of several institutions encompassing smallholder associations, religious corporations, co-operatives, non-governmental organisations (NGO’s) and the government.
New ways and approaches to scale up “sustainable livelihoods” are described.
