Abstract
New cultivars of LA Lily Hybrids Don Quichotte, Mega Star, Momeymaker and Showbiz were investigated in 1997/98 and 1998/99 according to their winter hardiness, in the East European climate condition (Central Part of Poland). The bulb were planted to the open ground (in the field condition) in autumn and spring and were found to have earlier flowering, more decorative flowers and a significant decrease in bulb harvest when spring time planting was undertaken.
There were no signs of frost damage of bulbs and plants in both autumn and spring planting of bulbs even if the temperature was minus 25 and 22°C in successive years.
