Abstract
The effect of NaCl addition at 0 (control), 25, 50 and 75 mM concentrations to nutrient solution on dry matter and fruit yield, and the distribution of calcium and oxalic acid contents in the upper and lower tissues of tomato plant were examined.
NaCl applied to nutrient solution decreased dry matter, fruit yield and calcium contents of the upper and lower tissues, and increased blossom-end rot formation rate in tomato fruit.
Oxalic acid content was increased in the upper tissue while decreasing in the lower tissue by NaCl applications.
Physiologically active oxalic acid amount was only determined in the upper tissues at the highest NaCl level.
