Abstract
This is an account of the initiation and early development of a pilot blueberry project which has taken place in the Highlands of Scotland under the aegis of a regional development body.
It traces the reasons for starting the project, the problems that have arisen, the mistakes that have been made, the lessons that have been learned, and the prospects for the future commercial development of the crop in the area.
