Abstract
Since the first experimental period in the beginning of the fifties in Denmark with the highbush blueberry, there has been much interest and optimism among fruit growers and garden people for this fascinating "new" fruit plant.
This enthusiasm has now been followed by some scepticism because it has not been possible to establish a single successful commercial culture out of five known endeavours.

The most obvious reasons for this hitherto commercial failure of highbush blueberry growing in Denmark may be the following.
