Abstract
It is found that the chemicals employed for keeping cut flowers produce three different relationships between the cut flower vase life and the obstruction of the xylem vessels: a) some chemicals do not maintain the xylem vessels clean nor the cut flower vase life, b) others keep the xylem vessels clean but cannot maintain the cut flower vase life, and c) another is unable to keep the xylem vessels clean but can maintain the cut flower vase life.
