Abstract
In this work, we studied antioxidant activity and yield extraction of rosemary and turmeric leaves extract.
One kind of the bioactive compounds is the phenolics.
Examples of plants with these compounds include turmeric and rosemary.
These compounds have confirmed pharmacological anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory activities and are used as food preservatives.
The bioactive compounds can be present in different parts of the plants such as in turmeric roots and rosemary leaves.
Our purpose of this paper was to maximize the yield of phenolic compounds in the extracts obtained by supercritical fluid extraction.
The antioxidant activities of the extracts were determined.
The antioxidant activity was larger for the SFE extracts of turmeric.
The SFE yields were 5.6 and 14.7% for rosemary and turmeric, respectively.
