Abstract
We studied the germplasm resources and genetic diversity of Diospyros L. These twenty populations derived from eastern Guangdong were analyzed by inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR). Here, five primers could produce highly reproducible ISSR bands.
Among 71 amplified bands, 63 exhibited polymorphism well, the percentage of polymorphic bands reached 88.73%. The results indicated that the collected Diospyros L. had a high genetic diversity in Eastern Guangdong.
The UPGMA cluster analysis showed that 20 populations could be divided into four groups, which indicated that germplasms from the same region were not clustered completely following the collection source.
It may be related to folk culture introduction or less than normal for ISSR primers.
