Abstract
A review is given of five years’ work on the use of growth regulators in new intensive pear plantings to promote branching of nursery trees, to induce flowering and fruit bearing in young orchard trees and to increase the yield of adult trees of those cultivars which frequently show poor fruit set.
Experiments on the effect of GA and shoot pinching on carbohydrate distribution are reported.
