Abstract
Intensive crop growing and/or narrow crop rotation, particularly characteristic for greenhouse crop growing under moderate climatical conditions is often a cause for the occurrence of soil sickness.

The classic narrow crop rotation of lettuce, tomato and cucumber as well as the pure monocultures give rise to specific difficulties and especially to phytopathological problems.

Salt concentration and plant residues after a tomato crop and straw rests after a cucumber crop enhance negative abiotic factors respectively the disease potential for the following lettuce crop.
The building up a specific soil inoculum and pathogenic potencies forces us to a precultural intensive soil disinfestation.
Authorities drew up advices and rules for growing crops especially for lettuce and tomatoes, taking into account the moment of disinfestation.

This paper deals with the most important parasitic problems encountered with the most common greenhouse grown vegetables, it provides a summary of surveys performed during the past five years showing the importance of crop rotation, frequency of application and waiting period, and, finally it offers suggestions for the best fitting growing scheme or alternatives.
