The diagnostics of tobamoviruses infecting Solanaceae crops

Abstract
The genus Tobamovirus currently includes 39 viruses. Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), Tomato mosaic virus (ToMV), Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV), Pepper mild mottle virus (PMMoV) and Tobacco mild green mosaic virus (TMGMV) are the most common on solanaceous vegetable crops.
The article presents the results of testing and validation of 7 pairs of universal primers for the genus Tobamovirus, six, five and two pairs of specific primers for detection of TMV, ToMV and TMGMV, respectively and three multiplex PCR techniques.
The test objects were isolates of Bell pepper mottle virus (BPeMV), Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV), Zucchini green mottle mosaic virus (ZGMMV), Paprika mild mottle virus (PaMMV), PMMoV, TMV, ToBRFV, ToMV, TMGMV, (DSMZ, Germany). Tests were carried out with reagent kits for PCR produced by Russian and foreign companies.
