Abstract
Burundi has a high burden of infectious diseases, especially malaria.
Low cost readily available effective treatments are urgently needed.
After reviewing the efficacy of traditional tea infusions of Artemisia afra against malaria, the Burundi Ministry of health approved use of the plant for treating malaria.
This report documents how that approval was obtained.
