Abstract
The effect of aluminum on top and root growth of two blueberry species was investigated in a solution culture test under low (0.08mM) and high (1.3 mM) calcium regimes.
Fresh weights decreased with increasing aluminum only under the high calcium regime.
Root acidifying potential was reduced with increased aluminum independent of calcium regime or species.
The highest solution aluminum level, 500 μM, significantly affected the root tip mucilage for both species.
