Abstract
Yields of rabbiteye blueberry cultivars reported from 10 different locations in the southern United States and 3 different locations in Japan were compared.
The study included yield data from 7 cultivars which were analyzed individually by age of plant, location of harvest, and age X location interaction.
Regression equations describing yield response as a function of plant age varying from 2 to 8 years were linear for 6 of the 7 cultivars.
Yield for one cultivar was a quadratic function of plant age.
The average yield for all plant ages varied with the location of harvests for cvs.
Tifblue, Woodard, Homebell, and Delite, but yields did not vary with location for cvs.
Briteblue, Southland, and Climax, indicating that the latter cultivars may be less productive, but somewhat better adapted to various soil and climatic conditions.
When all locations were pooled, cv.
Tifblue had the highest average yield, cv.
Homebell had the most uniform yield, and cv.
Delite had the least uniform yields over all locations and years.
