Abstract
Terbacil (3-tert-butyl-5-chloro-6-methyluracil) was applied at the rate of 4.5, 6.7, 9.0, and 11.2 kg/ha to two groups of ‘McFarlin’ variety cranberry plots infested with false lily-of-the-valley in April and May 1986 and 1987. It was found, in both years, that terbacil applied in April at the rate of 9.0 and 11.2 kg/ha controlled false lily-of-the-valley 57 to 80% and the application in May of 4.5 and 6.7 kg/ha controlled lily 80 to 93% without any phytotoxicity to ‘McFarlin’ variety cranberry vines.
