Abstract
Seeds were sown on four dates, i.e. 5th September, 25th September, 15th October and 4th November.
Roots were uprooted 60 days after sowing.
Stecklings were prepared and planted in an other field at spacing of 60 × 45, 60 × 60 and 60 × 75 cm on 4th November, 24th November, 14th December and 3rd January 1986–87. Maximum numbers of branches, number of pods and seed yield per plant were recorded from the roots which were raised by 5th September sown seeds, but seed yield per hectare were found at par from the roots either raised from 5th or 25th September sown seeds.
Amongst planting distances, none of the spacings could influenced the seed yield per hectare significantly.
