Abstract
The influence of different types of floating plastic films used as single or double layers was investigated under Norwegian growing conditions.
In April, with mean diurnal temperatures in the open of 9.3°C (soil) and 10.2°C (air) covering with non-perforated PE and double layers of non-perforated PE + PP or P-500 + PP, gave the best results.
In May, with outside temperatures of 11.6°C (soil) and 13.7°C (air) the single permeable coverings (PE-500, PP or PP-PA), increased the yield of Chinese cabbage by 18–51% as compared with uncovered.
