Abstract
Following the adoption of a decimal code for the developmental stages of cereals, a unified decimal code system is being tested in the GDR, which covers the main agricultural crops, including vegetables and fruit.
Based on the general principles established for this system, the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the GDR has been engaged in adapting the system to vegetables.
First results are presented, taking the carrot as a case in point.
