Abstract
In order to increase peach and nectarin production in Ecuador the INIAP Fruticulture Program has carried out since 1984 an agronomic evaluation in the Experimental Farm of Nagsiche (2 336 m above M.S.L., mean temp. 15.4°C). With 50 cultivars grafted on ‘Conservero Amarillo’, flowering, fruit set, vigour, production and fruit characteristics are evaluated. 5 plants represented an experimental unit.

The highest production (kg/tree) in the third year were shown with peach cultivars ‘Texas’, ‘Fla 2–4’, ‘Coral’ and ‘Florida Sum’ and in nectarines ‘5–8 Pelon’, ‘Sunglo’ and ‘Sungold’.
