Abstract
Peroxidase isozyme zymograms obtained from the cortex of the shoots of two or three year old seedlings were analysed by starch gel electrophoresis. 189 seedlings with marker bands of isozymes were obtained from 20 crosses in 1986–1987. The length of their internodes and terminal shoots were 1.0–1.5 cm and 10–25 cm respectively.
The ratio of internodes to shoots is 50.1–88.6 %. It was shown that the utilization of marker bands of isozyme for pre-selection of dwarf type apple trees is effective, and the inheritance of marker bands of isozyme is reliable.
