Abstract
The purpose is to recreate the hybrid P. acerifolia (which is susceptible to canker stain) by using a spontaneous resistant sycamore as the P. occidentalis parent.
For screening the hybrids to be obtained a test was devised and checked on different types of Platanus. Its efficiency seems satisfactory.
