IDENTIFICATION OF PYRACANTHA VARIETIES

The observations of numerous clones of Pyracantha (34) have been done on the UPOV reference collection.
This collection is planted at the ENITHP (Angers, France).

The criteria used for identification are macroscopic ones: juvenile and mature leaves, flowers (petal form, anther colour) and fruits.

The use of these characters led to the elaboration of a determination key for the different clones.
The limits of this method easy to implement are considered.
