Abstract
Fourty-one varieties of Local and International grapes were planted in the Regional Agricultural Research Centre, Sebha, in the year 1979. 10 year of assessment of these varietics have proved beyond doubt that 14 varieties of early marketable table grapes gave very good yield and quality fruits.
The variety response to the pruning were closely observed.
Different types of pruning (headed back to 2, 4 or 6 buds) gave different types of response on various varieties.
Certain types of pruning increased yield.
It is assessed that with the prevailing climate, and by taking advantage of the pruning response, these early varieties can produce quality fruits marketable by the 4th week of May.
