Abstract
Different experiments were conducted to determine the effect of the addition of clay to peat based substrates for pot plants.
It appears that the clay, when used in small proportion (less than 10% v/v), slightly modifies the properties of water retention and Cation Exchange Capacity of the substrates, but does not give significant difference on plant growth.
The interest could be in the behaviour of the plants during the commercial period, but further experiments will be necessary to check this hypothesis.
