Abstract
The prime target market for Hawaiian cut-flowers in the hotel industry is located mainly in the western part of the USA and Canada.
Luxury hotels ranked as four and five stars make up a market niche for Hawaiian growers.
They demand exotic varieties, high quality products and services.
The State of Hawaii needs to develop a policy to assure quality products.
The industry should continue to develop grading standards that will aim to reduce marketing and shipping costs.
The University of Hawaii should continue to develop new varieties and patent them.
