Abstract
The phenology of three important virus vectors – whiteflies, thrips and aphids – was monitored by using colored (yellow, green and blue) sticky traps, arranged at two heights (40 or 150cm) in the eastern, central and western sections of lisianthus greenhouses in two locations (Bet Dagan and Bessor). Whiteflies were attracted predominantly to the yellow traps, and thrips to the blue; whereas aphids were attracted in one case mainly to green, and in the second case to yellow ones.
Significantly more whiteflies and thrips were trapped in the lower traps.
Higher numbers of whiteflies were trapped in the eastern and central sections of the greenhouse, while in the case of thrips the highest numbers were trapped in the western section.
