THE TESTS WITH UTILIZATION OF MAGNETIC FIELDS IN SOILLESS CULTIVATION

Abstract
The prior own experiments with utilization of magnetic fields /MF/ in soilless medium showed the increase of greenhouse tomato and cucumber yields to the limit 5 – 10%. The present paper comprise the tests carried out with tomatoes and cucumber on rockwool substrate in 1994 and 1996 for intensification the MF influence by adding to the standard nutrient solution – sodium humate and / or silicon compounds.
In the first experimet in 1994 was used Polish “Magrostym” device.
MF increased tomato yield irrespective of adding or not sodium humate.
In the second experiment /spring 1996/ connection the MF with meta-sodium silicate adding to nutrient solution gave higher cumulation of Si in cucumber leaves, suppresive effect against powdery mildew on susceptible cultivars and in consequence higher yields of cucumber fruits.
In short autumn cycle using Mi together with Si and humate, treated like “chelating agent”, brought significant increase of the yields four tested cucumber cvs within the range of 10 – 27%.
