Abstract
Hybridization between Pinus mugo and P. sylvestris (Pinaceae) is visualized in Wells’ distances diagrams and plots of Common Principal Components Analysis (CPCA or PCA). These serve as an example to demonstrate the effects of character weighting in hybrid analysis.
Estabrook’s HYWIN program is also used as a test of the hypothesis of hybridity of putative hybrids.
Parents and hybrids are apparently better resolved when using differently weighted characters.
