Abstract
Accounts of the tours that took place before and after the Fourth International Conifer Conference are given.
The pre-conference tour visited the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s sites at Inverleith (Edinburgh) and Benmore (Argyll) as well as Ardkinglas Woodland Garden and Coille Choire Chluaich (near Crianlarich; a site for native Pinus sylvestris). The post-conference tour visited five English gardens and arboreta: Wakehurst Place (West Sussex), Borde Hill (West Sussex), the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens and Arboretum (Hampshire), the Valley Gardens, Windsor Great Park and Westonbirt Arboretum (Gloucestershire).
