Abstract
The susceptibility of four Prunus instititia’ cultivars to sharka virus and to Polystigma leaf blight has been studied.

It was found that these cultivars have a high resistance against both of them.
It is considered that the cultivars of P.instititia are very reliable for hybridization with the cultivars of P.domestica for obtaining new prune cultivars highly resistant to these diseases.
