Abstract
14CO2 photosynthetic assimilation and the kinetics of 14C incorporation into photosynthetic products were studied with leaves of rape plants /Brassica napus L. var oleifera, cv.
Górczanski/ which had been subjected to low temperature treatment /+5°C/ for 2 or 16 days.
Cold treatment in an increase of the incorporation of assimilated carbon into C4-dicarboxylic acids, alanine and proline.
A lack sensitivity of the glycolic acid pathway to temporary increases in the environmental temperature was evident after prolonged cold treatment /16 days/. Increased incorporation of 14C into C4-dicarboxylic acids in the cold-pretreated leaves was found to be correlated with the increased ratio of PEP/RuDP carboxylase activities.
