Abstract
Technology adoption is a dynamic process of technology application which can change farmers’ behaviour.
Technology will be adopted by the farmers if the technology results in a benefit and can increase the added value of the limited resources.
Technology adoption will impact the productivity and farmers’ income as caused by the change of farmers’ behaviour on production activities.
The assessment on transfer of preparation technology and initiation of village agro-industry of sugar-coated pomelo pulp was completed by the AIAT (Assessment Institute for Agricultural Technology) East Java in Magetan regency in 2001, which involved the farmers as the members of the Pomelo Farmers Association (PFA). The impact analyses of this assessment was undertaken in Magetan regency using a survey method between July and September 2006. The aims of these analyses were 1) to find information on preparation technology adoption of sugar-coated pomelo pulp by the farmers and 2) to find information on the impact of the AIAT assessment on the production capacity, marketing network and income of the village agro-industry in Magetan regency, East Java.
The results showed, that the preparation technology of sugar-coated pomelo pulp had been adopted by those villages’ agro-industry and had a positive impact on their income and high commercially value.
