Abstract
Wholesalers, agents and consolidators are the three types of vegetable traders practicing in Pengzhou, an important vegetable production base in Sichuan province, China.
Based on the data collected from 199 vegetable traders, this paper compares the operations and profitability of the three different types of traders.
The results indicate that the operational efficiency and profitability of consolidators are better than the other two.
Because each of the traders performs different roles and activities, the factors that influence their income and net profit are also different.
