Abstract
This paper uses social capital theory to analyze the effect of varying levels of social capital on the operations of 132 horticultural cooperatives in Sichuan Province, P.R. China.
Social capital, as measured by three factors; trust, social network and standards, had a significant positive effect on registered capital, total fixed assets, rebates, share dividends and product quality authentication, and a significant negative effect on the amount of per share capital.
