Efficiency of some raspberry fertilization programs

Abstract
The experiments were carried out in 2010 and 2011 in the eastern part of Poland using two primocane-fruiting raspberry cultivars of Polish origin grown in a commercial plantation.
The influence of three different NPK fertilizer rates applied as top-dressing with N fertigation, as top-dressing and as NPK fertigation program on raspberry plant growth, yield and fruit quality was compared.
Fruit quality was assessed by a mass of 100 fruits.
The top-dressing application was made in each spring, nitrogen fertigation was scheduled as 4 (2010) and 12 (2011) weekly applications, and the full fertigation program was scheduled as 17-18 weekly applications starting from spring and ending at harvest time in both years.
The following rates of NPK in 2010 and 2011 were applied as: 65 and 55 kg N ha-1, 12 kg P ha-1, 37 kg K ha-1 (the first top-dressing treatment with N fertigation); and 76 N ha-1, 12 kg P ha-1, 66 kg K ha-1 (the second top-dressing treatment); and 80 and 77 kg N ha-1, 21 and 19 kg P ha-1, 87 and 81 kg K ha-1 (for NPK fertigation treatment), respectively.
Fertilizer application through irrigation system (NPK fertigation program) contributed to producing more vigorous plant growth and therefore greater yields and better fruit quality than those top-dressed.
