Abstract
Results of 32 years of apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) cultivation in the Moscow region are presented.
Eight apricot cultivars and a few selection forms have been obtained.
New apricot orchards, five in academic institutions in Moscow and 26 in the monasteries of Moscow and adjacent regions, have been created by the author.
This article discusses the following topics: apricot winter hardiness, apricot flower bud morphogenesis, apricot propagation from seeds, micropropagation in vitro, apricot breeding by soft cutting and grafting, and orchard management.
