Abstract
The fruit trees in the southern China are located in the subtropical zone with high temperature and heavy rainfall, species like litchi and longan need to absorb a lot of nutrients each year.
If the fertilization management measures fail to satisfy the nutrition of litchi and longan trees, their productivity will be affected.
To improve fertilizer utilization efficiency, a self-propelled hole digging fertilizer applicator was designed for deep fertilization and multifunctional operation in orchards.
The structural parameters of the key components of the equipment were determined, and the key parameters affecting the operation of the digging and fertilizing machine were obtained through dynamic analysis.
Through the soil tank test platform and the EDEM simulation software, the reliability of the machine was determined.
The results showed that the mixing uniformity of soil and fertilizer reached 80.9%, which verifies that the machine can achieve the digging, collecting and backfilling operations and basically meet the requirements of orchard fertilization operation.
