Abstract
Soil fumigation, cultural, chemical and biological methods were evaluated in the lab, greenhouse and field to develop procedures to control wilt of florist’s chrysanthemum caused by Fusarium oxysporum.
Terr-O-Cas (MC-33) was superior to Brom-O-Gas (MC-2) in killing the fungus in infested soil.
Calcium nitrate-based fertilizer source, soil pH close to 7.0 and benomyl or thiophanate M drenches provided the best disease control.
Biocontrol agents, like Trichoderma viride and Pseudomonas putida provided good protection against the wilt pathogen in small plot studies.
