Abstract
From 1977 to 1982, 42 field trials have been conducted in France to assess the activity of SHELL DD (dichloropropene-dichloropropane) against the sugar beet nematode (Heterodera schachtii). Results show that from a level of infestation of 600 eggs and larvae per 100 g of soil a SHELL DD treatment is justified at the rate of 250 1/ha, applied in the autumn preceding the planting of the sugar beet crop.
The high degree of control of Heteredora schachtii results in important and regular yield increases.
