Abstract
A mass propagation scheme using shake culture technique has been developed.
According to this scheme, 64 x 106 bulbs can be theoretically produced in one year from a single in vitro raised bulb.
The scheme involves

  1. regeneration of plants from callus cultures of field grown bulbs

  2. stimulation of bulb scale production with kinetin

  3. development and multiplication of bulblets by shake culture

  4. establishment of plants in soil.
