THE VARIABILITY OF FIELD RESISTANCE AGAINST PATOGENIC AGENTS MONILIA LAXA (ADERH. ET RHUL) HONEY AND STIGNINA CARPOPHILA (LEV) M.B.ELLIS AND CYTOSPORA CINCTA SACC IN SOME HYBRIDS
By applying no fungicidal treatments for three years (1982–1984) in a selection orchard, within 1,600 progens belonging to 64 genomale families, it has been observed a high individual variability of F1 descendants from the host populations belonging to 9 hybrid families.
The continuous left-asymmetrical variability allowed the selection of 13 apricot elites with field resistance against Monilia Laxa Ehrenb Sacc and Stigmina Carpophila (Lév) M.B. Ellis.
Two of these elites are early variaties and have qualitatively very good fruit, while the other 11 are late varieties and have qualitatively good fruit.
By testing again the apricot selections under artificial infection conditions, the phenotypical expressiveness of the resistance character against Monilia Laxa has been well evidenced.
The elite Baneasa 15/23 (R. Umberto x Timpuriu de Chisinau) was resistant against the artificial infections with Cytospora Cincta, too.
