Abstract
The horticultural sector of northern Togo is still very underdeveloped.
Most farmers are found near (semi) permanent rivers, the number of gardens is rather small and farmers are underskilled using little or no inputs (improved seeds, new varieties, fertilizers, pesticides). Possible ways of improving horticultural practices are discussed throughout the article.
