Abstract
Five growth regulators were investigated: uniconazole, paclobutrazol, flurprimidol, chlormequat and daminozide.
An index was developed to compare the compactness of the plants when treated by the growth regulators at different concentrations.
Treatments of 45 ppm uniconazole and 8 ppm flurprimdidol resulted in plants within the ideal range of compactness on the index scale.
The plants were harmonic and both treatments ensured a large production of flowers.
The concentrations tested of paclobutrazol were all suboptimal.
Daminozide did not have any good reducing qualities on Osteospermum.
