Abstract
The climate of Eastern Asia varies greatly from south to north.
The work on breeding and selection of new ornamental crops increases in this area.
Many new techniques of biotechnology have been used in interspecific hybridization and propagation.
Over 120 new cultivars, including cut flowers, bedding and cover plants, flowering trees and shrubs, orchids, ornamental foliage plants have been introduced.
These new cultivars are more colorful, vigorous, free flowering, mini in size and highly tolerant to weather and diseases than cultivars before.
