Abstract
Irrigation water requirements of sweet pepper and beans are calculated in this paper.
The crop irrigation water requirements consist of two components: crop water requirements (potential evapotranspiration), ETc, minus the effective precipitation, Pe.
The values of water requirements (ETc) for sweet pepper and beans were obtained by multiplying the reference crop evapotranspiration (ETo) and crop coefficient (Kc). All calculations were carried out using the appropriate computer program – CRIWAR. The input data of this program are organized through three files, a general data file on the irrigated area – in this paper it is location of Rimski Šanèevi, Vojvodina Province, with latitude of 45.2 degrees North, and altitude of 86.0 metres above sea level.
The second file is meteo data file and the last is cropping pattern file.
The analysis was carried on the basis of mean daily climatic data for 10-day periods in the course of 25 years.
The results indicated that sweet pepper and beans in their growing seasons were deficient in water.
Total water shortage was in average 208 and 296 mm for beans and sweet pepper, respectively.
