Abstract
The President of National Agronomic Research Institute introduces French researches in Urban Tree area and the main programs which have been developed the last ten years with others French partners and International Institutes.

About health tree, he mentions as example, German collaboration on Poplar program and Italian collaboration on Cypress.
On Plane tree, which represents one of the most important subjects of INRA research, he develops the various axis of investigations.

The programs on nutrition and soil, but also pollution, are synthetically described.

The main strategies carried out to control pest and diseases, with a particular accent on biological control and breeding, are presented in the case of Plane tree, Elm and Ornamental Apple.

The role of biotechnology for the advance of these researches is mentioned to conclude on the future of this theme which represent a scientific, social and economic interest and could contribute to improve the scientific knowledge.
