Abstract
– Effect of Substrates and Phosphorous Fertilization on the Paratudo (Tabebuia caraiba (Mart.) Bur.)and Sucupira preta (Bowdichia virgilioides H.B.K.). Seedlings Development
The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of different substrates and the phosphorous fertilization on the development of Sucupira-Preta (Bowdichia virgilioides H.B.K.) and Paratudo (Tabebuia caraiba (Mart.) Bur.) seedlings in nursery condictions.
This work was carried out in the nursery at FAMEV/UFMT in january 1999. The experimental design was entirely casualized in the factorial scheme (4 x 2 ), in which treatments were four substrates and two fertilizer conditions (6,61lb of simple superphosphate/m3 of substrates and without fertilizer) with five repetitions and 10 seedlings/portion.
The treatments was (substrates): 1- black land; 2- black land + sand (1:1); 3- black land + carbonized peel rice (1:1); 4- black land + sand + carbonized peel rice (1:1:1). The characteristics evaluated were height, of leaves number and stem base diameter.
The seedlings from two species cultivated in substrates composed by black land + carbonized peel rice and black land + sand + carbonized peel rice proportioned better development of the seedlings with base in the characteristics evaluated.
Phosphorous fertilization was significated to paratudo seedlings growth height.
