Abstract
In Gloriosa rothschildiana the number of single flowers is closely correlated with tuber weight.
Yield, however, is modified by planting date.
Tubers for flower production in winter should be produced in summer.
Weight of daughter tubers can be increased by removal of aerial sinks, because tubers, flower buds and lateral shoots are competing for assimilation products.
Estimation of flower yield may base on an indicator leaf.
